Aspiring Parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korley Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , NaaKai Lamptey Addy has said that, the youth in Ghana are not lazy but rather, there are not enough job opportunities available for them to do. Speaking on Tv Africa’s BreakfastLive Morning Show with Lebene Abrokwa, the aspiring parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korley added that if there are lucrative job avenues made available for them(youth), she thinks they would work hard. Concluding on this, she advised the youth to also be discipline and focus when given opportunities to work.
She also assured her constituency of massive development if elected in to office. “I won’t put all that I’m doing out there just yet because this is a risk but like I said, I believe that politics is about your personal network, what you bring to the table and state machinery, if you combine these two, I think that with diligence , honesty and empathy it will go a long way to help your constituents or even the nation at large so I have started doing some background work already with some local and international organizations and that is my networking opportunities that I’m bringing on board and if given the nod by my people, I will unravel all of that to them” she said.
She went ahead to claim that , the performance of the ruling government ( New Patriotic Party) has been poor and that comparing the lives of the youths now to back then, the country is in a dying situation and has evidently been backed by numerous demonstrations by the youths against unfulfilled promises and lack of job opportunities led by the NPP government. She continued by saying that the educational and financial system in the country are completely in shambling state.
stressing further on the abysmal performance of the NPP government, she applauded the former president, John Dramani Mahama for strengthening the Ghanaian economy by building educational and transport infrastructures like the University Of Ghana Medical Facility and also renovation of the airport which has given Ghana an international recognition.
She then revealed that, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had a better policy on the Free Senior High School program than the New Patriotic Party( NPP) had. She said that, “When the NDC said that we were in the process of introducing Free SHS, in the process, we had a plan of looking more into expanding infrastructure to accommodate more students, but what did NPP do, they just came and deceived Ghanaians with free SHS, now we have children staying home about four months and going to school for three weeks, what do you learn in three weeks?”
