Nana Sechere, the agent of Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu, has revealed a fresh approach to help find the 31-year-old, whose whereabouts are still unknown following two deadly earthquakes that struck Turkey on February 6.
Sechere made this announcement during an interview with the Turkish publication Haber Global while standing outside Atsu’s severely damaged flat. Around 10,000 people have died as a result of the hit in Turkey as of this writing.
Atsu was allegedly buried under the earthquake’s debris, but Hatayspor officials, including head coach Volkan Demiral and club physician Gurbey Kahveci, denied such claims.
The search for the former Everton player has a different approach, according to the agent, who is in Hatay with Sechere and a group that includes Atsu’s sister and brother.
“We want his photo to be sent to hospitals. Maybe he came out of the rubble after the earthquake…maybe people did not know Atsu. Anyone who sees him should contact us. We want to find him” Sechere stated to Haber Global.
Atsu, who just joined Hatayspor, initially struggled to get playing time, missing out on 11 of his first 12 league appearances before coming in as a substitute in three contests.
A few hours before the earthquake, Atsu played eight minutes in a 1-0 victory over Kasimpasa and scored his first goal.
