The club might use some assistance, according to Sechere, who is now in Turkey with Atsu’s family. He also urged the club’s president to give his client’s search top priority.
The football player was buried beneath the debris after a severe earthquake shook several areas of Turkey more than a week ago.
Taner Savut, the club’s sporting director, and Atsu, a player for the Turkish team Hatayspor, were both buried beneath the debris. The entire football community is praying for their safety and hoping for their rescue since they are both still missing and have not been located.
“Things are moving incredibly slow and as a result of that many rescues are being delayed, and lives are being lost due to the lack of resources available to the workers,” the player’s agent said in a statement.
“It is unfortunate that the club is not on the ground with us, side by side, in the search for Christian. Their position and influence, accompanied with their local knowledge would be extremely helpful.
“We implore the President of the club and mayor of Hatay, Lütfü Savaş to provide additional resources to speed up the rescue efforts as a priority.”
He mentioned that although they have discovered Atsu’s exact room and even two pairs of his shoes, the player himself is still absent.
The agent’s full statement is shown below:
Christian has been missing for nine days now since the earthquake. Along with Christian’s family, I am in Hatay visiting the earthquake scene. Our hearts are torn for all those impacted by the scenes, which are beyond comprehension.
Christian Atsu’s specific room location and two of his pairs of shoes have both been found during my time here.
Although I’ve been taught that the only true evidence of life are sight, smell, and sound, we were unable to find Christian despite yesterday’s confirmation that thermal imagery was indicating up to 5 lives.
We are very appreciative of all the Turkish and international rescue personnel, as well as the local people and volunteers, for their efforts and quick action in saving survivors in this tough scenario. However, we urgently want more assistance on the ground, particularly a translator.
Since there aren’t enough resources accessible to the employees, many rescue operations are being postponed as a result of how slowly things are moving.
It is regrettable that the club is not actively helping us in our hunt for Christian on the ground. They would be very useful because of their standing, influence, and local expertise. We humbly request that Lütfü Savaş, the club’s president and the mayor of Hatay, allocate more funds so that the rescue operations can move along more quickly.
