GHANA NEED MORE THAN $3BILLION FROM IMF TO RESTORE CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS – OPANIN KWAME JANTUAH.

According to legal practitioner and member of the Convention People’s Party, Opanin Kwame Jantuah, Ghana would need more than 3billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund in other to be able to restore the current economic crisis.

He said that the crisis is more than 3billion and if it happens that the government defaults on the individual pension payments, how beneficial would the $3billion be.

He went ahead to say that there has been lack of communication between the government and the Bond holders in concernment of the Domestic Debt Exchange structure.

He continued by stating the confidence that the bond holders had in the government. “If people do not have confidence in government to honor their contracts, where is government going to find the domestic borrowing”? he said.

He further asked that the government should try and build trust and confidence with the people in other to avoid issues that might affect any future president in the long term.

He also revealed that the current performance of the ruling party is making it difficult for the other flag bearers of the political party to deliver their messages to the people.


He also emphasized on the fact that the International Monetary Fund and America cannot afford Ghana to fail. He said, “Ghana is one country in Africa they can communicate with, Ghana is one country in Africa they have good relationship with and I believe irrespective of where we get to, they will give us the money, but they will put people in there to make sure the money is used properly”.
