Dr. Louisa has been appointed by WDF as a global ambassador for World Oral Health Day.

This year's World Oral Health Day has Dr. Louisa Ansong-Satekla as its worldwide ambassador, continuing her collaboration with The FDI World Dental Federation to raise people's awareness of oral health issues around the world.

The campaign, which was first announced in 2007 and is observed every year on March 20, aims to give people the knowledge, tools, and self-assurance they need to maintain good oral health. It also attempts to motivate people to take action, schools and youth organizations to offer oral health education programs, oral health specialists and other healthcare professionals to educate the communities they serve, and policymakers to promote improved oral health for all.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Dr. Louisa Satekla-Ansong, WOHD Ambassador for 2023,” FDI World Dental Federation said in a statement. “This World Oral Health Day, let’s encourage people to be mouth proud for a lifetime of smiles.”

In order to lessen the burden of oral disorders, which affect people, health systems, and economies all over the world, the award-winning Ghanaian dental surgeon and entrepreneur will offer her wealth of experience and knowledge on oral health and associated issues as part of her duties. She will also make use of her knowledge to spread awareness and introduce innovative WOHD events and initiatives.She has committed herself to using her social media to educate the public about dental health.

Dental surgeon Dr. Louisa Ansong Satekla is a resident of Accra, Ghana. She works at Charisma Dental Clinic and is a part of the Ghana Dental Association.

She is now the recipient of two accolades: Health Influencer of the Year at the Ghana Pulse Awards in 2021 and Most Outstanding Woman in Health at the 2021 GOWA Awards. For the 22nd World Oral Health Day in 2022, she was initially chosen FDI World Dental Federation Ambassador.

Dr. Louisa is very committed to her charitable work, which is mostly focused on children in Ghana’s rural areas and encourages academic excellence, particularly for young females in the sciences.
