The campaign, which was first announced in 2007 and is observed every year on March 20, aims to give people the knowledge, tools, and self-assurance they need to maintain good oral health. It also attempts to motivate people to take action, schools and youth organizations to offer oral health education programs, oral health specialists and other healthcare professionals to educate the communities they serve, and policymakers to promote improved oral health for all.
