The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results for 2022 have been made public by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
According to WAEC, the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education will provide the results to the schools.
On its e-results website, www.waecgh.org, it announced that the results for applicants who took the junior high school leaving examination had been posted.
A genuine result checker is available for students and the general public to use in order to verify the published 2022 BECE results.
In the meantime, some candidates’ school assignments for specific courses are being closely examined.
According to the findings of the investigations, the results of candidates who suppressed them may be cancelled or made public.
Because they brought their phones into the exam room, 73 school applicants and 7 private candidates had their complete results thrown out.
In addition, WAEC said that 3 private applicants and 416 school candidates had their subject results cancelled for bringing foreign materials into the exam room.
The subject results for 38 school applicants have been withheld awaiting the outcome of investigations into various allegations of wrongdoing.
A total of 1,132 private applicants have enrolled for the tests and will take the papers at 15 chosen centres, while a total of 552,276 candidates from 18,501 schools throughout the country will take the exams for school candidates at 2,023 centres.
According to WAEC, there were 6.09 percent more candidates registered for the BECE in 2022 than there were in 2021 (1067).
