The driver in the middle of his daughter’s death has not been charged, according to Nana Opoku Kwarteng, the late dancehall musician Ebony Reigns’ father.
Over the weekend, a few news websites stated that the driver, Okoh Pinehas Chartey, has been accused of being responsible for the late Ebony’s demise.
In a phone chat with Emmanuel Agyeman (Braa Emma) on the Onua FM Anigye Mmre entertainment show, Nana Opoku Kwarteng responded to the news by refuting the claim. Additionally, he said that the matter has not yet been set up before the court.
He stated, “I have not heard anything of the such, and the matter has not yet been brought before a court.
He further asserts that the motorist was operating without a valid licence at the time of the collision. But nothing has been done to address it.
“Some time back, radio personality Adakabre Frimpong Manso told me that the guy was driving without a driver’s license, and I have not heard anything concerning that development,” he concluded.
Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known on stage as Ebony Reigns, was a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist popular for her hit songs Poison, Maame Hwe, Kupe and more. She was discovered by Bullet, formerly of Ruff n Smooth fame.
